TRAVEL INSURANCE FOR CANADIAN TRAVELERS

Planning a trip outside of Ontario or abroad?

Whether you’re heading to an exciting European adventure, an expedition to Banff or a serene resort stay, travel insurance is crucial. We understand that every travel plan is unique. From exploring destinations within Canada to venturing across the globe, we’ve got you covered. Our experienced advisors are dedicated to ensuring you and your family are protected, giving you the peace of mind to fully enjoy your travels.

WHY DO YOU NEED TRAVEL INSURANCE?

Medical treatment overseas can be very expensive. (read more)

When traveling abroad, medical bills can add up quickly. And without travel medical coverage, you and your family could face thousands of dollars’ worth of doctor visits, treatments and prescriptions, and hospital stays.

You arrived to your destination safely. But your luggage didn’t. (read more)

Baggage delay benefits can reimburse you for the reasonable additional purchase of essential items during your trip if your baggage is delayed or misdirected by a common carrier for 24 hours or more.

Sometimes life just happens when you are away. (read more)

Trip interruption coverage provides coverage if you need to return home early due to a reason covered by your policy, such as illness or a natural disaster. It reimburses you for the unused portion of your trip and any extra expenses incurred, like the cost of a last-minute flight or train home. This ensures that even if your trip is cut short, you won’t bear the financial burden of the missed portion and additional return costs.

Emergency care might be needed. (read more)

When you have travel insurance with emergency medical benefits, it can pay for losses due to covered medical and dental emergencies that occur during your trip. Emergency medical transportation benefits can pay for medically necessary transportation to the nearest appropriate medical facility, or the cost of getting you home for emergency care.

Flights get delayed. (read more)

When your vacation starts off with a cancelled flight, a missed connection, or another travel inconvenience, that happy travel feeling fades quickly.
Travel delay benefits can reimburse you for additional accommodation/travel expenses and lost prepaid expenses due to an insured departure delay of six or more hours.

Most people can’t afford to lose their vacation investment. (read more)

Trip cancellation coverage will reimburse you for prepaid, non-refundable trip costs when you must cancel or when a sudden cancellation happens due to unexpected events such as weather conditions, natural disasters, illness or injury.

VISITORS TO CANADA INSURANCE

Even though Canada is known internationally as a country with excellent free healthcare, Canada does not pay for hospital or medical services for visitors.

If you are planning on visiting Canada, you should get health insurance to help you pay for any medical costs that you might incur while travelling in Canada.

With travel insurance for Visitors to Canada, you can receive assistance in covering unforeseen medical expenses, including prescription medications, doctor visits, dental care, and hospital stays, so that you don’t have to pay out-of-pocket.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS INSURANCE

Are you going to be studying in Canada? To enroll to any University or College in Ontario you must have travel insurance. Your school will offer a basic health insurance plan that you can pay along with your tuition, or you can get your own insurance and show proof of coverage to your school.

There are some limitations with the health insurance that schools offer, if you are planning on coming here a couple of days, weeks or months before classes start, you won’t be covered until the first official day of classes.

You will also not have any coverage in between semesters or if you take a break, you must get your own insurance policy for that time.

It is recommended that you get your own policy so that you have the flexibility of choosing which coverage you want, for the exact amount of time that you will need it for. Not having to worry about getting additional policies during your studies will allow you to focus on studying and enjoying your free time.
